WE OFFER LEGAL AID FOR CHILD PROTECTION MATTERS*
Practice Area Overview:
The Children Youth and Families Act 2005 (Vic) enables the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (formerly known as DHHS) to engage with parents and children, where reports are received that a child’s welfare may be at risk.
While DFFH investigations can close at intake, there are often times that a report results in a Protection Application being brought before the Children’s Court of Victoria with the Department seeking an Interim Accommodation Order be made regarding the placement of the child and imposing stringent conditions on the parents requiring certain actions, including the completion of supervised urine drug screens and/or engagement with specific services.
Our Principal, Nathan Pace has appeared in over 400 child protection matters and is best placed to explain the process, provide detailed advice and ensure that you are being treated fairly to give you the best chance of keeping your family together.
Contact Pace & Associates Lawyers as a matter of urgency if DFFH are investigating your family or serve you with a Protection Application.
